On June 10, 2016, Onega Shipyard (Petrozavodsk, Karelia) held the ceremonial launching of a buoy-inspection boat built for FSUE Rosmorport, says the shipyard.
The boat named Yury Romanchenko is the second ship of Project 02780М.
The ceremony was attended by RF Security Council Secretary Nikolay Patrushev, RF Transport Minister Maxim Sokolov, Karelia Republic Governor Aleksandr Khudilainen, Deputy to RF President’s Plenipotentiary in the North-West Federal District Oleg Loginov, FSUE Rosmorport Director General Andrei Tarasenko, Head of Petrozavodsk Municipal District Irina Miroshnik, representative of Petrozavodsk Municipal Council Aleksei Yablokov, Director of Onega Shipyard Vladimir Maizus etc.
The vessel is intended for maintenance of aids to navigation ensuring safe shipping within the water areas of Russian seaports.
The vessel will be deployed by the North-West Basin Branch of Rosmorport.
“The shipyard looks promising. There will be new workshops, new orders and high quality products,” said Nikolay Patrushev.
Maxim Sokolov marked the high load of the shipyard. Its backlog of orders numbers 12 vessels with total amount of resources estimated at about RUB 2.5 bln.
The ceremony also included the christening of the ship.
The boat will be deployed by the Taganrog subdivision of Rosmorport ‘s Azov-Basin Branch for maintenance of aids to navigation and ensuring safe shipping within the assigned water areas.
The boat’s characteristics: LOA – 21.4 m, BOA – 6.6 m, draught – 1.4 m, speed – 10 knots, crew/special personnel – 2/5, fuel endurance – 650 nautical miles, total capacity of main propulsion engines – 824 kW.
Onega Shipyard was founded in 1944. The company is located on the shores of Lake Onega in Petrozavodsk, Russia. The shipyard specializes in the construction of bulk carriers, other merchant cargo ships and passenger vessels.
