Arctech says the sea trials of the new Finnish icebreaker Polaris continues on 20th June. LNG bunkering of the ship took place in Vuosaari Harbour 18-19 June and the second sea trials will be driven for the first time with gas.
IB Polaris will join Arctia’s fleet this summer. The icebreaker will use both low sulphur diesel and LNG as its fuel, which diminishes its emissions and operation costs. Polaris will be the most environmentally friendly icebreaker in the world.
