On July 5, 2016, Vympel Shipyard (Rybinsk, Yaroslavl Region) launched a big hydrographic survey vessel of Project 19920 (Hull No 01844, side No БГК 2150) built for RF Navy, says shipyard.
Upon completion of the mooring trials the ship will be towed to Sevastopol for sea and state tests. The ship will be deployed for operation in the Black and the Azov Seas.
Big hydrographic survey vessels of Project 19920 are intended for high-precision 3-D bottom survey, servicing of floating and nonfloating aids to navigation, delivery of personnel and cargo to unimproved shore.
