In January-June 2016, V.F.Tanker LLC (UCL Holding) carried 2.1 mln t of cargo, up 27%, year-on-year, says the Company.
The structure of cargoes carried in the reported period showed no considerable changes. Heavy fuel oil still accounts for the largest share of export cargo - 23%, bitumen – 21%, vacuum gasoil – 15%, crude oil – 7%, diesel fuel – 7%. Domestic traffic makes some 95% of the total volume.
The growth of the Company’s cargo traffic in general and domestic traffic in particular should be attributed to favorable climate and hydrological situation at all transit sections of inland water ways as compared with the low water navigation of 2015.
Taking into consideration the current situation and the characteristics of the Company’s fleet, en route cargo transshipment scheme is applied for transportation of oil product along the inland water ways. Cargo is transshipped from IWW ships to the ships of mixed sea/river class at the offshore terminal in Volgograd with the use of an oil pumping station (southern direction).
Such schemes considerably increase the efficiency of transportation through reduction of round-voyage time for sea/river class vessels with increased deadweight and improved hull fullness.
In the 6-month period of the current year V.F.Tanker deployed 45 self-propelled vessels and 10 ATBs.
Nizhny Novgorod based Volga-Flot-Tanker (V.F.Tanker LLC) was set up in 2001 with the participation of Volga Shipping Company, part of VBTH Holding, the majority stakeholder of which is UCL Holding.
