Seaborne cargo traffic at the Port of Vyborg in January-July 2016 dropped by 14% to 714,000 tonnes, the Authority of Russian Baltic Seaports said.
Dry bulk cargo shipments decreased by 4% to 589,100 tonnes. This includes 315,000 tonnes of mineral fertilizers (- 12%), 258,200 tonnes of coal and coke (+10%).
The volume of suction cargo plummeted by 80% to 21,600 tonnes, of liquid bulk – by 2% to 33,500 tonnes.
On the contrary handling of general cargo soared by 37% to 39,600 tonnes, while timber cargo volume dropped to 30,200 tonnes (-32%).
In 2015 total cargo throughput at the Port of Vyborg fell 8% to 1.55 million tonnes.
