Nevsky Shipyard launches dry cargo vessel Atameken, Project RSD49, for Kazakhstan (photo)

On 6 October 2016, Nevsky Shipyard held a ceremony of launching the single-deck dry cargo vessel of mixed river/sea navigation, Project RSD49. As the shipyard told IAA PortNews, the ship named Atameken was built for KTZ Express Shipping (Kazakhstan).

The project was developed by CJSC “Marine engineering Bureau-design-SPb”.

The ceremony was attended by representatives of the customer and different authorities of Russia, Kazakhstan, Saint-Petersburg and the Leningrad Region as well as other officials.

KTZ Express is a 100-pct subsidiary of Kazakhstan Temir Zholy.The company provides a full range of transport and logistic services at any means of transport on all Eurasian routes. It integrated railway, sea, avia and road transportation, port and airport infrastructure, a network of storage facilities and terminals located all over the world.  
 
KTZ Express operates a fleet of its own refrigerated containers and dry cargo vessels as well as a fleet of assets owned by its partners. 

Nevsky Shipyard, LLC is located 40 km away from Saint-Petersburg in the town of Schliesselburg on the left bank of the river Neva.  The Shipyard is one of the oldest enterprises of water transport in the northwest of Russia which started its shipbuilding activity since 1952. Nowadays the Shipyard builds sea and river vessels of various types and purposes and carries out all kinds of ship repair works. The slipway for vessels rising allows to launch and lift for repairs the vessels up to 150 meters long and dock weight up to 3,800 tons.
