Anton Alikhanov appointed as Acting Governor of the Kaliningrad Region (photo)

RF President Vladimir Putin has appointed Anton Alikhanov appointed as Acting Governor of the Kaliningrad Region, says press center of Kremlin.

Anton Alikhanov was informed about the appointment at his meeting with Vladimir Putin.

“I hope you will do your best to ensure proper speed of further development at this strategically important region,” said Vladimir Putin.

The President explained that Acting Governor Yevgeny Zinichev asks for return to Moscow for family reasons.

Anton Alikhanov previously headed the Government of the Kaliningrad Region.
