The trawler ship Pechora built for the fishing collective farms of the Nenets Autonomous District will be based in Murmansk. According to press center of Murmansk Region Government, ceremonial presentation of the vessel has been held today, 24 October 2016, at the port of Murmansk. The ceremony was attended by Murmansk Governor Marina Kovtun, NAD Governor Igor Koshin and heads of collective farms owning the ship.

The fishing feet of the Nenets Autonomous District has been traditionally using the berths of Murmansk. Eight NAD fishing companies are operating in the Northern Basin this year. Their fleet numbering four vessels including the Pechora is based in Murmansk providing work to the onshore companies of the Murmansk Region. In 2016, fishermen of NAD have supplied  processing companies of the Murmansk Region with 800 t of frozen fish, said Murmansk Governor Marina Kovtun.

“Several fishing companies had invested in the construction of the trawler. So the Pechora is a symbol of fishing fleet renovation as well as of cooperation and partnership. Commissioning of the ship fully meets the State Council’s decisions on the development of the Fishing industry,” said Marina Kovtun.

The port of registration of the new trawler is Naryan-Mar with Murmansk chosen as a base port. The vessel is owned by seven fishing collective farms of the Nenets Autonomous District in equal shares.
