SASCO carried over 1,500 containers to Arctic region in navigation season of 2016

In the navigation period of 2016, OJSC Sakhalin Shipping Company (SASCO OJSC) carried over 1,500 20-foot containers with cargo for Arctic, the company says in a press release.

Transportation of cargoes along the Northern Sea Route commenced on 15 July. SASCO’s Simushir, Shantar and Sasco Avacha were involved for operation in the Arctic. The company’s container carriers made four voyages from China to Pevek. 

The Sasco Avacha is about to complete the Arctic navigation with the voyage from America to the port of Pevek.

OJSC Sakhalin Shipping Company (SASCO) is one of the largest shipping companies in Russia. SASCO’s own fleet comprising mostly ice-class vessels transports a wide range of cargoes: containers, general cargoes, equipment, suction and grab bulk cargo, timber and wood products. The company provides year-round transportation from the ports of De-Kastri, Vanino and Sovetskaya Gavan.
