Within the period of January-September 2016 JSC Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg (SPSP, a member of UCL Port) invested some 520.1 million Roubles in its development programme, which is 8 times more than for the same period of the last year, the company says in a press release.
The growth was due to the increase of investments in new machinery, renovation of storage areas and reconstruction of the existing facilities.
Major part of the funds was invested into purchase of new machinery for SPSP. For 9 months our company put into operation two rail-mounted 32.8t cranes Mantsinen K-200 (ES), two bucket loaders VOLVO L60GZ with the capacity of 2 cubic meters each, attachments for cargo handling equipment and specialized roll-trailers for transportation of cargo around the territory of the port.
SPSP also ordered two 33t forklift trucks Kalmar DCF330-12LB, four 10t forklift trucks Kalmar DCG 100-6 and eight 8t TCM forklift trucks. These machines are to be delivered to the port before the end of this year.
Also, during the mentioned period SPSP renovated several storage areas, reconstructed hot and cold water supply systems, modernized fire prevention system and automated system for commercial accounting of power consumption.
JSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” (a member of UCL Port – stevedoring division of the international transportation group UCL Holding) – is the largest provider of cargo handling services for all types of dry cargoes in the Greater Port of Saint-Petersburg. It operates several state-of-the-art multi-purpose terminals for handling of general and bulk cargoes, as well as specialized terminals for ro-ro and container cargoes . In 2015 the total turnover of the company amounted to 7.9 mln tons.
