In January-October 2016, the Port of Tallinn (Estonia) handled 17.01 mln t of cargo (-11%, year-on-year). According to the Port Authorities, transshipment of containers dropped by 4.9% to 167,780 TEUs.
Transshipment of loose bulk cargo increased by 25.3% to 3.03 mln t, liquid bulk cargo – down 25.8% to 8.29 mln t, general cargo – down 4.2% to 470,500 t, Ro-Ro cargo - up 4.8% to 3.82 mln t.
The number of cargo vessels’ calls increased by 5.2% to 1,491 units, passenger ships – up 35% to 4,721 units.
Port of Tallinn ranks fourth largest seaport, next to St. Petersburg, Primorsk and Ust-Luga, on the Baltic Sea. The Port comprises five so-called port zones: Muuga, Old City Harbor, Paljassaare, Paldiski South and Saaremaa. In 2015 throughput at Tallinn port totaled 22.44 million tonnes.
