In January-December 2016, Murmansk Sea Fishing Port JSC handled 308,900 t of cargo, down 17.3%, year-on-year, shows the stevedoring company’s statistics.

In the reporting period, the company handled 178,800 t of fish products (-17.7%, year-on-year).

In December, the company handled 25,200 t of cargo (down 11.6%, year-on-year) including 14,900 t of fish products (+8%, year-on-year).

In December Murmansk Sea Fishing Port handled 103 vessels including 99 vessels with fish cargo.

According to Oleg Kreslavsky, Managing Director of Murmansk Sea Fishing Port JSC, to prevent further decrease of cargo turnover the company has to attract new partners not involved in the fishing industry.

“We took part in shipment of several large batches of equipment for VostokUgol Management Company which conducts coal exploration works at its license sites at Taymyr. Besides, we handled quite a lot of loose cargo – crashed stone and cement including that for Gazprom Neft Supply. Now the port is handling BBC BAHREIN that has delivered a large conveying and crushing system for Apatite JSC”, he said.

JSC Murmansk Sea Fishing Port specializes in handling cargo from fishing boats, mother ships and reefer ships. It also transships packaged, palleted and loose cargo, as well as general cargo of commercial and military use. The company’s quay side is 2,765 meters long. It owns port fleet, fleet of lifting equipment, auxiliary equipment, refrigerators, rail facilities and yard engines.

In 2015 the company handled 371,400 t of cargo (-10.8%).
