Issues related to silt accumulation at waterways and water areas of seaports, its negative impact on shipping infrastructure and water use will be on the agenda of the 4th International Forum of Dredging Companies in Moscow on February 15.
Putzmeister, a company offering hydraulic piston pumps as an effective and economically viable solution will take part in the Forum. Putzmeister equipment can pump materials with 68% of solids content. The company has developed and supplied equipment for cleaning of small water bodies (silt deposit of about 20,000 cbm) and for large scale projects requiring pumping of 3,000,000 cbm of silt deposits). This technology was successfully applied at Aswan Dam (Egypt) where floating pontoon with a KOS-type pump of Putzmeister was used.
The Forum will be held in Moscow on 15 February 2017 under the auspices of the Russian Ministry of Transport and the Federal Agency for Maritime and River Transport of Russia (Rosmorrechflot). The Forum is organized by the leading maritime sector's media group PortNews in partnership with FSUE Rosmorport and International Association of Dredging Companies (IADC) with personal participation of IADS Secretary General René Kolman.
The Forum is expected to gather over 200 participants from Russia and foreign countries.
