In January-December 2016, the port of Kaliningrad handled 11,700,100 t of cargo (-8%, year-on-year), says Baltic Sea Ports Administration.
Transshipment of dry bulk cargo grew by 8% to 1,486,400 t including 18,500 t of mineral fertilizers (-65%) and 579,200 t of coal (+38%).
Transshipment of dry loose cargo increased by 5% to 4.13 mln t, transshipment of general cargo fell by 8% to 1,413,600 t.
The port’s container throughput increased by 5.4% to 189,180 TEUs.
Transshipment of cargoes carried by ferries totaled 1,246,600 t (-32%), liquid bulk cargo – 2.42 mln t (-20%) including 1,097,000 t of oil products (-33%), 741,400 t of crude oil (-5%) and 543,400 t of food cargo (-4%).
