Nevsky Shipyard will build five dry-cargo vessels of Project RSD59 for Paula Rise (gaphics)

On December 29, 2016, contracts for the construction of a series of five dry-cargo vessels RSD59 project were signed between the LLC "Nevsky Shipyard" and LLC "Paula Rise", says press center of Nevsky Shipyard.

The vessel is designed for transportation of general and bulk cargo (including grains), packaged lumber, logs, scrap metal in bundles and rolls of large, lengthy and heavy cargo, coal, dangerous goods of 1.4S, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.1, 8, 9 class in accordance with IC IMDG and Appendix B of the BC Code.

The main advantages of the dry-cargo ship project RSD59:

- The availability of long hold L = 77,35 m, which allows to transport large-capacity loads , which is important for the countries of the Caspian region market

- The height of the hold 9,000 mm, which allows to transport the containers to a height of 9.6 feet - "high cube containers" (3 of container height)

- The hatch covers are set of removable type. Opening and closing of each section is carried out using a special gantry crane, which is located in the bow bulkhead accommodation superstructure in its stowed position

- Movement and control is provided by two RSS (better maneuverability in narrow waters, more cargo space by reducing the size of machine room).

Nevsky Shipyard, LLC is located 40 km away from Saint-Petersburg in the town of Schliesselburg on the left bank of the river Neva.  The Shipyard is one of the oldest enterprises of water transport in the northwest of Russia which started its shipbuilding activity since 1952. Nowadays the Shipyard builds sea and river vessels of various types and purposes and carries out all kinds of ship repair works. The slipway for vessels rising allows to launch and lift for repairs the vessels up to 150 meters long and dock weight up to 3,800 tons.
