Allseas Group will build the second string of TurkStream

Gazprom says South Stream Transport B.V. (100% subsidiary of Gazprom) has signed a contract with Allseas Group for construction of the second string of TurkStream gas pipeline’s offshore section. The document was signed on 20 February 2017 in Amsterdam.

To lay more than 900 km of pipes Allseas will use the world’s largest construction ship — Pioneering Spirit.

TurkStream is an export gas pipeline stretching from Russia to Turkey across the Black Sea. The first string of the pipeline is intended for Turkish consumers, while the second string will deliver gas to southern and southeastern Europe.

The first and second strings of TurkStream will have the throughput capacity of 15.75 billion cubic meters each. On October 10, 2016, the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Turkish Republic inked the Agreement on the TurkStream project.

South Stream Transport B.V. is building the offshore section of the TurkStream.
