Ocean Alliance is getting ready for its first scheduled call at EUROGATE Container Terminal Wilhelmshaven. The “OOCL Tianjin” will tie up for the first time on the Ocean Alliance NEU1 service on 13 May 2017.
However, before the first scheduled ships operating on the new service dock at the port, a number of shipping lines are running trials in order to coordinate processes. The preparations also include deliveries of empty equipment, which local consignors collect from the container terminal for packing at their warehouses, to ensure the full containers are ready and waiting to be loaded onto the first ship, the “OOCL Tianjin” when she makes her first scheduled call at the terminal.
On 20 April 2017, the shipping line OOCL delivered about 400 empty containers on board the “OOCL Europe”. With the initial phase of empty container deliveries, OOCL intends to underpin the conceptual integration of Wilhelmshaven into the Ocean Alliance network.
In addition to OOCL, other shipping companies, e.g. CMA CGM or Unifeeder, have put the handling processes at the terminal to the test.
