Cochin Shipyard Limited, one of the leading Shipbuilding and Shiprepairing Company of the Nation, is organizing ‘LAGHU UDYOG EXPO-2017’, a two-day National Level Vendor Development Program cum Industrial Exhibition and B2B meeting with the active support of Department of Industry and Commerce, Government of Kerala and MSME development Institute, Thrissur. ‘LAGHU UDYOG EXPO 2017’ will be held at Marine Drive, Ernakulum on 15th and 16th May 2017 for bringing MSMEs in India, which are able to deliver products of high quality meeting International Standards at competitive cost and time, into limelight, the shipbuilding company said in a press release.
Shri. A.C Moideen, Honorable Minister of Industries, Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of Kerala inaugurated the function. Cochin Shipyard Chairman & Managing Director Shri Madhu S Nair, Prof. K.V.Thomas MP presided the function, MLA Shri Hibi Eden, Mayor Smt. Soumini Jain, Cochin Municipal Corporation, Additional Chief Secretary Shri Paul Antony, IAS, RIAB Chairman Dr. Sukumaran Nair, MSME Director Shri P V Velayudhan were also present during the occasion.
LAGHU UDYOG EXPO-2017 is expected to offer a meaningful platform for MSMEs predominantly from Kerala for showcasing their products / services and for interacting / marketing with prospective clients. Major Central and State PSU's in Kerala and Banks are also actively participating in the program. 80 stalls and 10 B2B meet counters/rooms are arranged at Marine Drive, Kochi in a fully air-conditioned exhibition venue. Informatively no fees are being taken from the participants as well as from visitors of common public and Cochin Shipyard Ltd fund the entire expenditure.
The two days will be enriched with seminars and presentations by various MSMEs, industries and experts said Cochin Shipyard Chairman & Managing Director, Shri Madhu S Nair. LAGHU UDYOG EXPO is not just an exhibition it is a network of MSMEs, along with public sector undertakings many banks will also participate in this exhibition, he added.
