Transneft Siberia checked fleet’s readiness for shipping season
Transneft Siberia finished the preparation of the water transport for the spring and summer season, Transneft says. The fleet was being prepared for the shipping season in accordance with the annual activities plan. Now, the readiness of the fleet for the navigation is 100 per cent.
The company branches have 33 units of watercraft, which include 10 self-propelled vessels, 9 barges, 10 small vessels, and 4 air-cushion vessels. The Urengoy, the Nizhnevartovsk, the Surgut, the Nefteyugansk, the Uray, the Tobolsk, and the Tyumen oil trunk pipeline directorates (OTPDs), and the Specialized Directorate for Emergency Prevention and Response have river transport. Eight units of water transport were purchased for the Urengoy OTPD in 2016 within the Zapolyarye – Purpe oil trunk pipeline construction project.
River transport is used to relocate vehicles, specialized machinery, and process equipment and to deliver specialized personnel to the inspection points of oil trunk pipelines’ underwater crossings.
The Pur, Taz, Ob, Irtysh, Konda, Tura, Tobol, and Iset rivers are main waterways for the company. The longest route is 2,940 km – this is the passage from the city of Tyumen on the Tura river to the settlement of Korotchayevo (Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District) on the Pur river.
