Port of Singapore throughput up 6.2% to 205 mln t in 4M’17
Cargo volumes handled at the Port of Singapore in January-April 2017 rose 6.2%, year-on-year, to 205 million tonnes, the Port Authority statistics showed.
The volume of oil cargo increased by 9.8% to 78.6 million tonnes, while non-oil bulk cargo – by 6.8% to 5.98 million tonnes.
The port’s container throughput rose 10.4% to 10.33 mln TEUs.
Singapore is the city-state located on an island in Southeast Asia. In 2016, container traffic at Port of Singapore reached 30.9 TEUs, total cargo throughput was 593.3 million tonnes.
