Zelenodolsk Plant named after M. Gorky says the eighth serial anti-terror boat of 21980 project has left the shipyard for the delivery base in Kronshtadt.
Grachonok-class special-purpose boats of Project 21980 have been built for RF Navy by Zelenodolsk Shipyard from 2008. The eighths ship was laid down on 12 January 2015.
The main purpose of the series is to defend basing sites of the Russian Navy.
Basic characteristics of Project 21980 special-purpose boat: Displacement: 138 t; Dimensions: length – 31 m, beam – 7.4 m, draft – 1.85 m: Full speed: 23 knots; Operating range: 200 miles; Endurance: 5 days; Crew: 8.
Armament: Igla SAM system, 14.5-mm pedestal machine gun mount, DP-65A counter-terror grenade launcher, DP-64 grenade launcher.
Radioelectronics: MR-231 navigation radar, MT-201 optoelectronic observation system, Calmar sonar, Anapa counter-terror dipping sonar.
Besides, diving facilities are availabille onboard the craft.
