Throughput of Ukraine’s seaports in Jan-May'17 climbed by 4.5% Y-o-Y to 55.60 mln t

In January-April 2017, seaports of Ukraine handled 55.609 mln t of cargo, up 4.5%, year-on-year, says press center of Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority.

Transshipment of export cargo totaled 42.971 mln t (+ 4.7%), imports – 7.880 mln t (+14%), transit – 4.309 mln t (- 1.9%), inland traffic – 448,000 (- 49.9%).

The highest results were demonstrated by port Yuzhny – 18.47 mln t (+6.6%), Odessa – 10.41 mln t (+1.6%), Nikolayev – 9.77 mln t (+6.5%).

In the reporting period, transshipment of liquid bulk cargo grew by 12.1% to 4.77 mln t including 1.407 mln t handled by Yuzhny port (-14%), 1.33 mln t handled by Nikolayev port (+32.6%) and 0.97 mln t handled by Odessa port (+23.4%).

Transshipment of dry bulk cargo totaled 40.31 mln t (+8.7%) including 16.51 mln t handled by Yuzhny port (+8.1%), 7.46 mln t handled by Nikolayev port (+10.4%), 4.74 mln t handled by Chernomorsk port (-6%) and 4.29 mln t – by Odessa port (+11%).

Container throughput in seaports of Ukraine t grew by 2.4% to 245,522 TEUs including 210,255 TEUs handled by Odessa seaport.

From the beginning of the year, seaports of Ukraine handled 4,607 vessels (-6.6%, year-on-year).
