By 1 June 2017, cargo traffic within Azov-Don Basin of Russia’s IWWs totaled 2.73 mln t (+14.8%. year-on-year), Azov-Don Basin Administration told IAA PortNews.
In January-May 2017, transportation of transit cargo grew by 11.8% to 772,000 t, internal turnover – by 36.2% to 301,000 t.
In January-May 2017, Azov-Don Basin Authority registered 1,289 vessel movements including 594 downward and 695 upward (versus 1,222 in the same period of 2016: 561 downward and 661 upward).
In May 2017, cargo traffic within Azov-Don Basin fell by 16.6% to 382,000 t while transportation of sulphur grew by 23.2% to 234,000 t, diesel fuel – by 3.8% to 190,000 t. Transit cargo flow grew by 4.4% to 1.204 mln t, internal turnover – by 6.7% to 174,000 t.
In May 2017, Azov-Don Basin Authority registered 800 vessel movements including 368 downward and 432 upward (versus 812 in May 2016: 398 downward and 414 upward).
The total length of the waterways in the area of responsibility Azov-Don Basin Administration is 691.3 kilometers.
