Cargo volumes handled at the Port of Singapore in January-May 2017 rose 5.3%, year-on-year, to 259.34 million tonnes, the Port Authority statistics showed.
The volume of oil cargo increased by 5.8% to 97.69 million tonnes, while non-oil bulk cargo – by 10.5% to 7.69 million tonnes.
The port’s container throughput rose by 5.9% to 13.33 mln TEUs.
Singapore is the city-state located on an island in Southeast Asia. In 2016, container traffic at Port of Singapore reached 30.9 TEUs, total cargo throughput was 593.3 million tonnes.
