Stena Line signs deal with China’s largest travel agent
Stena Line has just signed an agreement with Ctrip, China’s largest travel agent to sell its passenger ferry tickets. The deal will enable Stena Line to access the vast Chinese market and open up a range of possibilities for self-drive tours using its extensive route network in Europe, the company said in its press release.
China is an exciting market for Stena Line for a number of reasons. This Autumn, the construction of four new flexible and fuel-efficient RoPax ferries will start at the Chinese shipyard AVIC on behalf of Stena Line. The vessels will be delivered during 2019 and 2020 and the plan is to locate the new vessels on Stena Line’s Irish Sea routes.
Stena Line is one of the world's largest ferry operators with 36 ferries and 20 routes in northern Europe. Stena Line is developing new intermodal freight solutions by combining transport by rail, road and sea and it is an important part of the European logistics network. The company is family-owned, was founded 1962 and the head office is located in Gothenburg. Stena Line is part of the Stena AB, which has around 15.000 employees and a turnover of approximately SEK 36 billion.
