Functioning of the Kaliningrad Region SEZ will be extended up to 2095, its territory will be expanded with ports. According to the transcript of RF Government meeting available at its official website, this was announced by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.

As in the case of priority development areas in the Far East of Russia, the investors of the Kaliningrad Region SEZ are supposed to enjoy tax privileges. The Government proposes privileges for new residents of SEZ, those who obtained this status after signing the law. There are six tax periods with the zero tax rate to be followed by other six periods with 10-pct tax rate.

“Quite significant changes. I hope they will be helpful both in the Far East PDAs and in the Kaliningrad Region SEZ,” said the Prime Minister.
