Ship owners can raise freight rates by 10% at Frank Freight electronic freight market

Ship owners can raise freight rates by up to 10% at Frank Freight electronic freight market, Victor Koval, Managing Director at GS Guttatim Shipping Co. Ltd, told IAA PortNews.

“Normally, cargo owners and ship owners communicate via a broker or a chain of several brokers depending on different factors. They (brokers) create an illusion of deficit of required ships for cargo owners, on the one hand, and a poor cargo market for ship owners, on the other hand. Then a cargo owner is informed about a ship available at a high freight rate. At the same time the work is done in respect of a ship owner to decrease the freight rate amid the said to be excessive tonnage and cargo deficit. In the result, the margin of the intermediate brokers is quite substantial, - tells Victor Koval. – Therefore, it is more interesting for me and a cargo owner to have more transparent relations for coming to a mutually beneficial ‘average’ freight rate. Finally, cargo owners will pay less and ship owners will get more”. That is the approach available at the Frank Freight system.

As IAA PortNews was informed by the company which designed and launched a dedicated website, registration at Frank Freight is free for owners of ships and cargo. It is a unique Internet project allowing ship owners find cargo and cargo owners find ships without involvement of freight brokers.
