Representatives of the Pacific Fleet Command, Eastern Military District, Indian Armed Forces, warship crews, marines, motorized rifle detachments, flight crews took part in the military parade marking the end of Indra 2017 exercise, says press center of RF Defence Ministry. During the parade EMD Deputy Commander, Lieutenant General Sergey Solomatin and Indian Army Division Commander, Major General Nudurupati Durga Prasad greeted the servicemen of both countries.
Addressing the audience, the EMD Interim Commander Colonel General Alexander Zhuravlev pointed out that the past exercise was the most formidable in history of both countries and showed the great strengthening of Indian and Russian servicemen cooperation.
In his turn, The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to the Russian Federation Pankaj Saran stressed that the exercise concept, counterterrorism, was topical and such exercises put a shield in the way of terrorists. He also thanked the Russian side for such a high level of organization.
A number of Indian Armed Forces servicemen were awarded Medals for Strengthening Military Cooperation. Major General Nudurupati Durga Prasad awarded the Russian servicemen medals «For distinguished participation in Indra exercise».
After the evening colors, servicemen of both countries marched in a parade.
The closing ceremony was ended by the Su-35S, Mi-8AMTSh helicopters flights and Indian military transport aircraft performing over the Amur Bay.
