Overall freight traffic at the Port of Rostov-on-Don in the January-October period rose 8.1% on last year’s volumes figure to 17,876,000 tonnes, the IAA PortNews regional correspondent reports citing Andrey Iovlev, Rostov-on-Don Harbour Master.
Crude oil and oil products export volume climbed 0.9% to 6,78,000 tonnes, grain shipments increased by 14%, to 5,775,000 tonnes, handling of bulk coal and coke surged by 57%, to 1,928,000 tonnes, of general cargo - by 8% to 442,000 tonnes, of edible oil - by 24.7% to 410,000 tonnes. The volume of non-grain suction bulk cargo decreased by 11.6% to 2,157,000 tonnes, export of scrap dropped by 20.5% to 690,000 tonnes.
Loading of freight increased by 8.7%, to 11,549,000 tonnes, of transit cargo - by 8.9% to 5,688,000 tonnes. Unloaded volume , on the contrary, fell 7.5% to 639,000 tonnes.
The Harbour Master’s Office issued permits for 5972 arrivals and 6,007 departures (2016 – 5,545 / 5,602).
In the ten-month period bunker fuel sales at the Port of Rostov-on-Don totaled 73.7,000 tonnes, 22% below bunker volume supplied a year before.
