IAA PortNews in partnership with Port Management Company LLC, Russia's major coal port holding that exercises the powers of a single executive body of largest dedicated coal ports (Rosterminalugol JSC and Vostochny Port JSC) have held a virtual round-table meeting “Best practices of coal transshipment in Russian ports”. The meeting video is available at the website of IAA PortNews >>>>
Coal is the most promising cargo for further expansion of port capacity in Russia. Despite a large number of coal terminals there are only four dedicated coal terminals in Russia. Many of the coal ports handle the dusty product without applying environment protection technologies. However, the situation can be changed with the new legislation initiatives intended to force stevedores operating non-specialized terminals acquire dedicated equipment and systems or leave the market.
During the meeting, industry experts commented on the most topical issues related to port handling technologies.
