On 15 December 2017, Onezhsky Shipbuilding, Ship Repair Yard (Petrozavodsk, Republic of Karelia) launched self-propelled hopper Silnaya with a 600-cbm hold, says press center of FSUE Rosmorport.
The vessel ordered by Rosmorport is intended for dredged material transportation.
R&D work conducted while designing the barge was focused on considering the use of modular equipment with a containerized propulsion unit. This method let decrease the construction costs and simplify installation of auxiliary equipment. The solution will also simplify maintenance and repair works.
The barge will now undergo outfitting and adjustment of equipment.
The delivery is scheduled for June 2018.
The Silnaya is the second barge in the series of three vessels of Project HB 600 ordered by Rosmorport to Onezhsky Shipyard.

Onezhsky Shipbuilding, Ship Repair Yard (Onega Shipyard) was founded in 2002 on the basis of shiprepair facilities of the Belomorsky-Onezhsky Shipping Company, formed in 1944. In 2011, after the enterprise management dismissal the production stopped, and the company went bankrupt. In late 2014 the enterprise was transferred to the state ownership and resumed its shipbuilding / repair activity.
