On 19 January 2018, Novorossiysk hosted a name giving ceremony for three multi-functional tugboats of DAMEN ASD 2310 design. The tugs named Delovoy-1, Delovoy-2 and Delovoy-3 joined the fleet of Delo Service Company LLC. As Delo Group told IAA PortNews, the ceremony was held by His Grace Feognost, Bishop of Novorossiysk and Gelendzhik.
Victoria Kalinina, Anna Vyakhireva and Yekaterina Ilyina, best handball players of women's national team, served as godmothers.
Oleg Nechayev, Director General of Delo Service Company LLC, said at the ceremony, that Delo Group had been consistently implementing the development programme with the delivery of three tugboats among the first steps.
“The short-term plans of Delo Group include the creation of an in-house towing division, construction of a container berth (Berth No 38) at NUTEP terminal, as well as expanding the capacity of KSK grain terminal. Their implementation is underway. We are very glad to have tugs built and delivered by Damen. Strict compliance with deadlines on construction and delivery to the port of Novorossiysk lets us start mooring operations at our terminals within the minimum period of time”, he said.
All the three sister tugs can be deployed for port operations, nearshore mooring operations and towing operations at the continental shelf. Specific feature of the Delovoy-3 is its special firefighting equipment which added FF3WS sign to its class notation.
The forth tuboat, the Delovoy-4 laid down by DAMEN will have the same characteristics. Its delivery is scheduled for November 2018.
Delo Service Company (Delo Group) offers towing services at the port of Novorossiysk. The company operates new tugboats of up-to-date design that feature high performance and improved maneuverability. The tugboats’ aggregate capacity and bollard pull let them service vessels with length of up to 300 m and deadweight of 40,000 DWT and higher.
