The Register has joined the Association of Shipowners and Entrepreneurs of Marine Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, RS said in its press release.
The Association is focused on contributing to merchant shipping and navigation development in the Republic by drafting proposals considering the current legislation improvement. Implementation of unified policy focused on social and economic development and strengthening of the enterprises' industrial and technical capacities; assistance in preparation and advanced training of the maritime industry specialists are among the organization's objectives.
The Association was established in 2006. It includes shipowners, ship operators, companies providing services for technical support, project management, engineering, construction and logistics.
In 2017, the Register was successfully audited by the Maritime Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Today, 127 ships flying the flag of the Republic of Kazakhstan are classed by the Register.
The Caspian Sea is among the RS priority areas where the Register has been conducting its activities since early 1920s. RS Branch Offices are operating in all major ports of the Caspian Sea – Astrakhan, Makhachkala, Turkmenbashi, Baku and Aktau. The total number of personnel employed by the Register in this area is amounted to 110. The following modern sophisticated ships of various types and purposes are operated under the RS survey in the Caspian Sea: supply vessels, tankers, dry cargo ships, passenger ferries, dredgers, research ships, tugs, fishing vessels, as well as installations for hydrocarbon offshore fields development, including mobile offshore drilling units and subsea pipelines.
