Ampelmann gangway system installed succesfully on the Wagenborg Offshore's Walk to Work vessel
Recently a Ampelmann gangway system was installed on 'Blue Queen', a Walk to Work vessel from the Wagenborg Offshore fleet.
With this motion compensated unit offshore crews will be transfered safely from the vessel to unmanned platforms in both Dutch and British waters by NAM and Shell UK in wave heights up to 3.5 meters.
The installation is part of a conversion, which is executed within 16 weeks. Shipyard Royal Niestern Sander is converting the vessel from a platform supply vessel into a walk to work vessel. 'Blue Queen' will support the offshore maintenance operations of NAM/Shell UK on the Southern North Sea in the upcoming six years. The vessel is expected to be delivered to Wagenborg Offshore March 2018.
The vessel will start operations in Q1 2018.
