5000th tanker loaded at CPC Marine Terminal
A significant event occurred at CPC Marine Terminal not far from Novorossiysk on February 27, 2018 - the loading of the 5000th marine tanker since the commencement of the Consortium’s operation was completed.
CPC says the milestone tanker called the Nautilus is owned by Tengizchevroil Shipper.
CPC General Director Nikolay Gorban gave instruction to load the tanker at the Marine Terminal during the video conference call from CPC Moscow office. Dennis Fahy, First Deputy General Director, Kairgeldy Kabyldin and Mikhail Grishankov, Deputy General Directors, and Serikkali Murinov, Consultant, Oil Movements and Commerce, also participated in the Company’s milestone event.
Nikolay Gorban congratulated the Consortium’s team and Shareholders with that important milestone in the Company’s business.
It is a significant achievement for the entire CPC close-knit and high-professional team working at our crude oil transportation facilities from Tengiz to Novorossiysk. Over 530 million tons of crude oil have been moved and 5,000 tankers loaded over a period of 17 years of the pipeline system operation, with everything done reliably without accidents and incidents related to spills of hydrocarbons, in full compliance with the HSE requirements, he pointed out.
The tanker was loaded as normal, and after completion of all necessary formalities the tanker left the oil port seawaters.
The CPC pipeline system is one of the largest investment projects with foreign capital in the energy sector in the CIS. The length of Tengiz-Novorossiysk pipeline is 1,511 km; more than two thirds of all export crude oil from Kazakhstan and crude oil from the Russian fields, including those in the Caspian Region, are transported by this route. CPC Marine Terminal is equipped with three Single Point Moorings (SPM) that allow to load tankers safely at a significant distance offshore, also amid poor weather conditions.
