Throughput of port Kaliningrad in 2M’18 up 16% Y-o-Y to 2.32 million tonnes
In January-February 2018, the port of Kaliningrad handled 2,329,800 tonnes of cargo, up 16%, year-on-year, says Baltic Sea Ports Administration.
Transshipment of dry bulk cargo dropped by 28% to 365,700 tonnes including 157,300 tonnes of coal (+55%). No mineral fertilizers were transshipped in the reporting period while transshipment of other cargoes plunged by 48% to 208,400 tonnes.
Transshipment of dry loose cargo grew by 38% to 711,100 tonnes, general cargo – up 26% to 231,000 tonnes.
The port also handled 276,300 tonnes of cargo carried by ferries (+26%), 580,700 tonnes of liquid bulk cargo (+30%) including 376,800 tonnes of oil products (+65%), 80,100 tonnes of crude oil (-35%) and 115,400 tonnes of food cargo (+36%).
The port’s container throughput grew by 18.5%, year-on-year, to 34,532 TEUs.
