Missile ship Vyshny Volochok to join RF Navy this month
At present, the Project 21631 small missile ship Vyshny Volochyok is passing the final stage of state trials in the city of Novorossiysk and is to be commissioned by the Russian Navy this month, says press center of RF Defence Ministry.
The Project 21631 small missile ships having been built by the Navy’s order at the Zelenodolsk Shipyard since 2010 belong to multipurpose ships equipped with the most modern models of high-precision missile, artillery, antiaircraft anti-sabotage weapons. These ships are designed for guarding and protecting the state economic zone. They are able to operate both singly and in groups of similar-class and all-arms groups of naval forces in various maritime areas. Traditionally, the Project 21631 ships are called by the names of ancient Russian cities.
The displacement of these ships is about 1,000 tons, the design maximal speed is 23 knots, the number of crew is over 50 people, the endurance is 10 days without refuelling.
