Throughput of port Kaliningrad in 4M’18 up 10% Y-o-Y to 4.71 million tonnes
In January-April 2018, the port of Kaliningrad handled 4,714,000 tonnes of cargo, up 10%, year-on-year, says Baltic Sea Ports Administration.
Transshipment of dry bulk cargo dropped by 10% to 783,600 tonnes including 356,000 tonnes of coal (+89%) and 4,400 tonnes of mineral fertilizers (+57%) while transshipment of other cargoes climbed by 11% to 965,300 tonnes.
Transshipment of dry loose cargo grew by 17% to 1,410,400 tonnes, general cargo – grew by 16% to 458,300 tonnes.
The port also handled 451,300 tonnes of cargo carried by ferries (-8%) and 1.24 million tonnes of liquid bulk cargo (+29%) including 825,200 tonnes of oil products (+64%), 187,200 tonnes of crude oil (-17%) and 213,700 tonnes of food cargo (+1%).
The port’s container throughput grew by 7%, year-on-year, to 75,021 TEUs.
