Russian Railways: Loading of export cargo bound for domestic ports up 5% to 128.9 million tonnes in 5M’18
Russian Railways says that loading of Russia’s export cargo bound for domestic ports grew by 5%, year-on-year, to 128.9 million tonnes in January-May 2018.
In particular, coal loading grew by 4%, ferrous metal – by 6%, fertilizers – by 12.8%, grain – by 65.9%, paper – by 7%, timber – by 17.1%.
Coal accounts for 45.7% of exports, oil – for 26.7%, ferrous metal – for 9%, fertilizers – for 6.9%, grain – for 4.2%.
In the reporting period, loading of export cargo to the ports of the North-West Region totaled 55.4 million tonnes (+9.9%, year-on-year), to the port of the Southern Region - 31.9 million tonnes (-2.5%), to the ports of the Far East Region – 41.5 million tonnes (+5%).
