Capital Cruising and Viking Cruises marked the first direct and closest cruise call between the UK capitals – London and Edinburgh – under new management of the London Moorings anchorage.
Capital Cruising, who run seven busy cruise terminals and anchorages across the UK is the only port operator to offer unrivalled fast access to the Capital cities for cruise passengers. The Viking Sea enjoyed two cities at two anchorages in two days as it cruised into London on 27 June and arrived in Scotland’s capital on 29 June as part of their Midnight Sun cruise to Bergen.
The moorings in London on the River Thames are now managed as a joint venture with Capital Cruising and MBNA Thames Clippers and offer passengers a rare opportunity to get right to the heart the famous city at both the Tower of London and Maritime Greenwich. The moorings are expected to welcome over 100 vessels during 2018.
At the anchorage in Newhaven, the Viking Sea’s passengers arrive in the UNESCO City of Edinburgh. With the anchorage on the River Forth only 3 miles from the heart of the historic capital, guests are within easy reach of Edinburgh Castle and the Palace of Holyrood.
The Viking Sea is part of Viking Cruises luxury fleet of ships which provides a more intimate cruise experience with less than 1000 passengers on board.
