First train of regular container service between Vladivostok and Saint Petersburg underwent customs clearance

On 26 August 2018, Saint Petersburg Customs completed clearance of the first regular container train operating on transcontinental route Vladivostok-Saint Petersburg. According to North-Western Customs Department, the train consisting of 64 large-capacity containers came from the port of Vladivostok to the Shushary station of Russian Railways’ Oktyabrskaya branch.

The high-speed train delivered components for Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Rus, Russian plant of Hyundai Motor Company located near Saint Petersburg.

According to the statement, customs clearance was performed within a short time. All customs procedures took less than eight hours due to a technology aimed to streamline the process.
