Gazpromneft Marine Bunker’s sales in Russia’s North-Western ports grew by 7.5% to 556,000 tonnes in H1’18
Gazpromneft Marine Bunker, the bunkering business operator of Gazprom Neft, says its sales of marine fuel in the North-Western ports of Russia totaled 556,000 tonnes in the first half of 2018, up 7.5% year-on-year.
The company has strengthened its position as the largest oil product supplier in the bunkering market of the North-Western region (30%).
The highest growth was seen in the ports of Kaliningrad and Baltijsk (+38%), Arkhangelsk (+32%) and Murmansk (+14%).
In the first half of 2018, Gazpromneft Marine Bunker increased sales of environmentally friendly low-sulfur marine fuel by 39% to 100,800 tonnes. This type of fuel was sold at the ports of the Baltic Sea (Saint-Petersburg, Ust-Luga, Primorsk, Kaliningrad, Baltijsk) which are covered by MARPOL requirements. The share of low-viscosity fuel with sulfur content not exceeding 1,000 ppm has increased to 18% (+4% vs 2017).
According to Andrei Vasilyev, General Director of Gazpromneft Marine Bunker, the growth of sales was driven by implementation of the strategic projects in the Arctic and on the Northern Sea Route.
In the reporting period, the company’s sales in the Black Sea ports totaled 242,000 tonnes (+11%) while the market volume decreased by 1.3%.
