Commercial Port of Vladivostok handled more than 7.7 million tonnes in 9M’18, up 40% Y-o-Y

Commercial Port of Vladivostok (CPV, part of FESCO Transportation Group) says it handled over 7.7 million tonnes of cargo in 9M’2018. The result has increased by 40%, year-on-year, and has exceeded total throughput of 2017 (7.5 million tonnes).

The stevedoring company says its container throughput grew by 15%, year-on-year, to 393,000 TEUs, handling of vehicles surged by 74% to 43,700 units, general cargo – by 77% to 3.8 million tonnes. 

Average monthly handling over the 9-months period reached 857,500 tonnes (+40%, year-on-year).

In the reporting period, the company handled 1,881 vessels (+18%, year-on-year) and 92,800 railcars (+49%). 819 container trains were dispatched to different regions of Russia, Central Asia and Kazakhstan (+33%).

The company says it is going to reach a new record in 2018 – about 10 million tonnes.

Annual throughput capacity of the port is 3.9 million tons of general cargo and oil products, 150,000 vehicles and over 600 thousand TEU of containers.
