Nord Stream 2 will become operational from 1 January 2020, IAA PortNews correspondent cites Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, as saying at the 8th St. Petersburg International Gas Forum (SPIGF 2018).
According to Alexey Miller, the demand for Russian gas in Europe grew by 6% in 2017 and in 2018 amid reduced production of coal and replacement of boiler stations fueled by coal.
Nord Stream 2 is the construction project for a gas pipeline with the annual capacity of 55 billion cubic meters from Russia to Germany across the Baltic Sea.
Nord Stream 2 AG, the developer of a pipeline total length of which will exceed 1,200 kilometers.
