Russian Railways: Loading of export cargo bound for domestic ports up 6.1% to 229 million tonnes in 8M’18

Russian Railways says that loading of Russia’s export cargo bound for domestic ports grew by 6.1%, year-on-year, to 229 million tonnes in January-September 2018.

In particular, coal loading grew by 4.4%, ferrous metal – by 11.9%, fertilizers – by 5.6%, grain – by 48.3%, paper – by 9.4%, timber – by 18.9%.

Coal accounts for 46.9% of exports, oil – for 25.9%, ferrous metal – for 8.9%, fertilizers – for 6.7%, grain – for 3.9%.

In the reporting period, loading of export cargo to the ports of the North-West Region exceeded 97.1 million tonnes (+8.3%, year-on-year), to the port of the Southern Region - 57 million tonnes (+1.1%), to the ports of the Far East Region – 74.7 million tonnes (+7.4%).
