Cargo transportation via Northern Sea Route can reach 17 million tonnes in 2018

As of 1 October 2018, cargo transportation via the Northern Sea Route totaled 13,709 million tonnes and can reach 17 million tonnes in 2018, IAA PortNews correspondent cites Nikolay Monko, Acting Head of the Northern Sea Route Administration, as saying at the ХI International Forum “Transport Potential” held in Saint-Petersburg today, 18 October 2018.

According to him, cargo traffic along the Northern Sea Route grew from 6.5 million tonnes in 2016 to 10.729 million tonnes in 2017.
