BIMCO and Paris MoU update the pamphlet “The Inspection Regime on Paris MoU”
BIMCO and the participating administration of the Paris Memorandum of Understanding of Port State Control (Paris MoU) have updated the pamphlet “The Inspection Regime on Paris MoU”, BIMCO said in its press release.
The pamphlet can be downloaded for free and serves as an easy at hand guidance offering a quick introduction to how to prepare for inspections by Port state Control Officers. It also offers advice to the crew on how to avoid unnecessary problems when calling at a port in the region and reflects on the best practices and code of good conduct during inspections.
Lastly, the guide advices ships on how to comply with regulations when calling at a port or anchorage within the Paris MoU region.
More than 18.000 inspections take place on board foreign ships every year in the Paris MoU ports, ensuring that these ships meet international safety, security and environmental standards, and that crew members have adequate living and working conditions.
The Paris MoU organization consists of 27 participating maritime Administrations which currently are: Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, the Russian Federation, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom.
