Vladimir Putin gives instructions on development of Far East port infrastructure

Following the meeting of the State Council Presidium, Russian President Vladimir Putin gave a number of instructions focused on the development of port infrastructure, says the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East.

RF Government in cooperation with the regional authorities is to ensure synchronization of Far East projects on development of port infrastructure intended for coal transshipment and implementation of BAM and Transsib modernization Phase II. The Government is to control compliance with port infrastructure commissioning schedule. RF Government is to provide the President with a report before February 1 with next reports to be submitted half-yearly.

By March 1, RF Government in conjunction with the Far East regions should ensure the development of mechanisms encouraging organizations involved in coal transshipment via the Far East ports invest in creation of the state (municipal) infrastructure in the territory of those entities. Partnership agreements between stevedoring companies and regional authorities are to be among those mechanisms.

The State Council meeting was held on 10 September 2018 in Vladivostok.
