In January-October 2018, the port of Kaliningrad handled 11,836,600 tonnes of cargo, up 5%, year-on-year, says Baltic Sea Ports Administration.
Transshipment of dry bulk cargo dropped by 22% to 2,701,600 tonnes including 957,900 tonnes of coal (+32%), 6,200 tonnes of mineral fertilizers (up 2.2 times) and 1,022,500 tonnes of other cargoes (-44%).
Transshipment of dry loose cargo grew by 22% to 3,631,100 tonnes, general cargo – by 39% to 1,472,200 tonnes.
The port also handled 921,600 tonnes of cargo carried by ferries (-23%) and 2.77 million tonnes of liquid bulk cargo (+10%) including 1,646,600 tonnes of oil products (+10%), 468,100 tonnes of crude oil (-16%) and 615,900 tonnes of food cargo (+17%).
The port’s container throughput grew by 8.6%, year-on-year, to 223,235 TEUs.
