The first delivery of fish by the Northern Sea Route is expected in summer-autumn season of 2019, Vyacheslav Ruksha, head of FSUE Atomflot, told IAA PortNews on the sidelines of Transport Week 2018.
According to him, fish is to be delivered by lighter-container ship "Sevmorput" in 450 reefer containers. The ship is to undergo modernization for that purpose.
Vyacheslav Ruksha emphasized that the key logistic challenge is concentration of required amount of fish.
